ATAPI device ... so this refers to your CD-ROM or DVD.
I've seen this problem before, but on a Fedora Core 10. Something is trying to
mount the media in /dev/hdc, but as no CD is inserted, there is no media with
a useable filesystem present in the CD-ROM. Hence you get that error.
Reasons for this are somewhat unclear to me as it didn't affect CentOS-5.2
before. But like said: On FC10 it's also present. Could be a kernel issue, an
auto-mounter or a manual additon to /etc/fstab
Try try one of the following resolves:
1.) Provided you do NOT have the BIOS set to automatically boot off the CD,
simply insert a CD into the drive and reboot.
OR:
2.) Power down the server, open up it, unhook the CD-ROM drive by
disconnecting it's IDE or SATA cable and then boot again.
On my FC10 box I opted for option #2.
Am currently checking on a stand alone CentOS-5.3 if this is a general problem
or if it somehow just affects your setup.
