If anybody has some words of wisdom, I'm all ears.   I'm all out of
ideas as to why the permissions would have gotten so torqued.

Please let this be a lesson to everybody... if you're going to run BX,
throw the Nuonce stuff away.  Just toss it.  Don't use it.  You're not
saving yourself anything in the end.   Greg and Michael make some great
PKGs and in the long run it's WAY cheaper than trying to "recycle".
