You know - It's difficult for me to tell on email if your tone here is
'sarcastic/funny' or 'sarcastic/patronizing' - sometimes punctuation /
smileys can prevent you from being misunderstood. Just a friendly
observation - it's not always obvious. This episode has really
stressed me out so perhaps I'm not really in the mood for sarcasm -
just help.
Anyway I always like to think the best of people (especially on this
list) so I'll assume it's 'sarcastic/funny'.
Back to my issue - I had actually done that - but there was only a
kernel log of after the even (when I rebooted) nothing else at all -
yes I have been though all the other messages.1 etc files also. Nada.
If BX crashes like that - is it common that it's such a fatal crash
that it's not logged?
If so - I guess I'm never going to be able to find the cause of this -
I wish I'd done a screen grab of the dump screen now.
Is there any way of preparing / running something on this server so
that if it happens again I might catch a bit more pre-crash data? Can
you up the level of Kernel logging somehow?
This box is on Linux version 2.6.18-92.1.22.el - is that pretty stable
in terms of BX/Centos Kernels?
Cheers,
Jeff
