Hi,

Well I have done some more reading, and found
http://linux.com/archive/feature/118645?theme=print which is a great
resource, and I think that I can sort this out now.

Subject: [BlueOnyx:02195] Help with using space on replaced drives

Hello,

I found that when I rebooted today, for the new kernel, I had a drive 0
failure and so I moved drive 1 into drive 0 and everything was good.

Then a trip to the suppliers left me with a bigger set of replacement
drives, 250gb instead of 160gb, and so I started to read up on how to use
the extra space but I am a bit lost.

Can anyone offer some advice on the best way to resize the various drives?

I now have;

/home	ext3	/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-home 0% (5%)	121.61 GB
378.92 MB	128.62 GB
/	ext3	/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-root 44% (1%)	2.93 GB	2.58
GB	5.81 GB
/tmp	ext3	/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-tmp 3% (1%)	1.77 GB
67.18 MB	1.94 GB
/var	ext3	/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-var 9% (1%)	3.33 GB
355.48 MB	3.87 GB
/boot	ext3	/dev/md0 15%	194.60 MB	35.81 MB
242.95 MB
/dev/shm	tmpfs	tmpfs 0% (1%)	378.14 MB	0.00 KB
378.14 MB
Totals : 2%	130.20 GB	3.40 GB	140.85 GB

.... and so I have about 90gb free to use - which I would like to add some
(maybe another 4gb if it makes sense) to / and the rest to /home once the
rebuild completes.

If someone can provide the commands to make it all work I would really
appreciate it as I am off on leave at the end of the week and I don't have a
lot of time to waste on making mistakes (which I would likely do) :-)

Thanks

Tony
