Hello,

Well I wanted to let everyone know that I solved this - and it was nothing
to do with BO, I had been trying to write to somewhere outside the website
directory tree which finally I realised was not the answer and so instead I
created a uniquely named directory (something hard to guess and not likely
to be found) in the website directory tree and then simply wrote to that.

Simple really but when you are trying to emulate IIS in Linux BO there are
some things that you have to rethink :-)

Subject: [BlueOnyx:01426] PHP writing files - where can I do it

Hello,

I am trying to use PHP to write a file (fopen(... ,'w') on BO but for some
reason even if I manually change the permissions on a file that exists the
php code (from php.net as a fallback test) cannot open the file.

I have tried lot's of different things but nothing seems to work as
expected.

Is there a specific way that I should be doing this?

Tony
