[BlueOnyx:00689] Occasional Boot Issues

Update. I was able to get the ftp server running, but it seemed odd to me
how/why.

Using webmin, I attempted to start the ftp server, (this is with the check
box in the gui unchecked) it reports that the ftp server cannot be run in
inetd mode, so I changed it to run in a stand alone daemon mode and it
started just fine. Go back to the gui, place a check mark in the enable
server and then the active monitor shows that all is good.

I've been working with sorta the same problem today. Have an old DL-360 that
I use for testing and don't seem to be able to get the ftp service to start.

I've added a vsite, database, etc, all is working fine expect that one
service.

Hi.

I have a HP DL360 to replace our Cobalt 4i.

I have had BlueOnyx installed for a few weeks now and its working fine.

Nice job guys really impressed.

I have an issue where some times the server boots but no services are
available SSH, FTP ,WWW etc.

The server has no console but if I access it via the HP Lights Out
management console and make a console connection, I can log in.

A further re-boot generally fixes the problem but not all the time.

If I pull the power from the server and turn it back on, this fixes the
problem every time.

Any one else had a similar issue?

Are there any boot log files available? I looked at boot.log in /var/log but
its always a blank file.

It could always be a hardware problem with the eth0 port possibly as the ILO
service has its own port?

Thanks Guys.
