[BlueOnyx:02514] Firewall help

I have know some about Linux & blueonyx.  But do not know as much as you do.  So can someone help me with how to block & allow  IP's from & to my server.  I know that I need to start with the command line I think.  Can someone give me a little help with my firewall so that my server will not got down again do to bad attack in apache.
