[BlueOnyx:03646] Unable to create new sites

Hi

One of my BlueOnyx boxes is suddenly unable to create new sites. Upon 
hitting save I get:

"Unable to create the system email alias, sys at www.abcdefgh.ch, for this 
site. Make sure no user on the system is using the alias and try again."

in /var/log/messages I get:

And no in /etc/passwd the is no user sys and there is no user using this 
alias already.

Does anybody have any hints on how to resolve this ?
