For any kind of monitoring setup, I would go with a clean install of an
operating system, without the clutter that BX would provide on top.

We have a spare BX server in one of our coloco racks (just used for VPS
backups) and I want to install Nagios Server on it. 
Standard Centos5 has a Nagios yum install available but nothing on BX.

1. Has anybody installed Nagios on BX before?
2. Did it cause a problem/is it likely to cause a problem?

I would appreciate any feedback.
