yum install kernel-pae

Then, someone correct me if I'm wrong you have to update some files to make
sure your kernel is loaded at boot and after updates.

pico /etc/sysconfig/kernel

change this line (add -PAE)

DEFAULTKERNEL=kernel-PAE

pico /boot/grub/grub.conf

change line

default=x

count from 0 (zero!) until the kernel in the list and add the number as
default.

Is the kernel second in the list of grub.conf then your default line should
say:

default=1

Good luck J
