[BlueOnyx:04591] cannot install PHP JSON extension

Dear all,

Hope one of you can point me to the right direction in the following:

I am trying to activate the JSON extension. Using the commands below I tried 
to impment it, but I do not understand the error:

 
[root at hosting1 ~]# 
[root at hosting1 ~]# pear install pecl/json

Maybe one of you can help me out?
PHP version is 5.1.6
The extension seems to be standard in 5.2
