I cd to /home and type touch test and it says it's read only.

found out a bit more, seems to be a EXT3 file system issue, in the
/var/log/messages I see:

Nov 24 11:08:12 onyx1 kernel: Remounting filesystem read-only
Nov 24 01:19:02 onyx1 kernel: Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 410k
Nov 24 01:19:02 onyx1 kernel: EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem.

Just hunting for the correct recovery command.

Does this look correct:

fsck -y -f -t ext3 /dev/VolGroup00/home

- Ernie.
