Having spotted the issue on BX, I added a new domain as an alias on a BlueQuartz server and it did not behave the same way - both PERL and PHP scripts continued to run normally (I even changed the primary domain and put the original one in as an alias just to be thorough)
Thanks for looking into this issue.
Richard

Just a FYI:
I think I have found a solution that fixes this issue. I have submitted it to the development list for review.
If approved I will incorpate the fix in the source code repository and I am sure that a fixed rpm will hit the repositories shortly after that.
Can someone confirm or deny this issue is also happening on BlueQuartz.

Hi James,
I completely agree. Somehow I am not getting the notifications for new bugs, so I will have to talk to Michael about that.
I myself was not aware of this issue. I have asked Michael wether he has worked on this already, else I will dig into it and locate the issue and fix it.

Agreed. This is a bit of a major problem, as (as already pointed out) many people store passwords and usernames in connection strings in php pages and includes.
Even the suggested work arounds allow php files to be seen in plain text, even if just for a split second.
Not good enough...

Hi y'all
We've seen this too, we tend to switch off php, save and then switch it on
again and save and everything is hunky-dory. I don't think it matters what
you change - you just need to make a change and save.
Also this kind of behaviour happens in other areas of the admin - we've
seen it in the email with z-push.
It would be great if this didn't happen.
Regards
Jeffrey
