I did  "/etc/init.d/xinetd restart"  with no error. 
But I cannot access the CentOS 5.5 macine, with both SFTP and FTP client. 
The file  "/etc/xinetd.d/proftpd"  has empty;

Then,  I reinstalled  CentOS 5.5 with  "no applications".
I can accessed  it with SFTP client,  but not FTP client.
