Looks like it may have been for cobalt,
  /var/lib/cobalt
the slave server broke, and we had backups.
the cmu.xml file has the slave zones in a format

       <DnsSlaveZone>
         <domain value = "domain.tls"/>
         <masters value = "1.2.3.4"/>
       </DnsSlaveZone>
