The IP for a site, or any web related value in the siteadmin for that site. 
On BlueQuartz the aliases tend to get removed when something is changed so 
the site without the www.   resolves to the first site listed in the 
httpd.conf

What you could do to test it is, on a working site, try changing one of 
those values and see if it breaks.
