[BlueOnyx:07379] SMTP from Android 2.2.2

Want to see if anyone has had this issue of not being able to send email 
using Droid. We're having this issue on Verizon and AT&T, the error when 
trying to send is...

May 25 12:39:34 vnyxbo sendmail[9660]: p4PGdXcB009660: 
mobile-166-137-009-177.mycingular.net [166.137.9.177] (may be forged) 
did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MSA

Using the same settings as a Thunderbird client with success, trying 
port 587 with user name and password. The Secure Connection and Verify 
Certificate on the droid are disabled. Anyone experienced this or know a 
solution?
