Hmm...on my Motorola Android Atrix phone, there is a standard, already
built-in, application called 'Messaging' where you setup email accounts
similar to most phone email setup. This is where the customer wants to
setup his email. I just downloaded the latest iso and installed as a
virtual server here at my location, applied all yum updates, setup a
test site and test user, etc. I am getting the same error in the server
mail logs and on the droid. Droid says 'Authentication error sending',
but of course I have verified the credentials many times. The error in
the BX maillog is...
May 25 18:36:34 localhost sendmail[4800]: STARTTLS=server,
relay=[192.168.1.70], version=TLSv1/SSLv3, verify=NO,
cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA, bits=256/256
May 25 18:36:34 localhost sendmail[4800]: p4PMaYlk004800: [192.168.1.70]
did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MSA
Also getting the same weird message with commands to the server using
telnet from the phone...
500 5.5.1 Command unrecognized: ""
The email account settings for the Outgoing server on my Android are...
Server: blueonyx.server
Port: 25
Username: test
Password: random_pass
Use secure connection is not checked
Verify connection is not checked
Those are all the settings and they work using a Thunderbird mail
client. Must be the Android version I am using, can anyone verify if
they are using Android OS version 2.2.2 and working SMTP with their BX
server?
