[BlueOnyx:09617] mysql connection thru GUI

I cannot connect to mysql thru the GUI - Security -> PHPmyAdmin

When I try it times out.

I can however connect via http://IPAddress/phpmyadmin

I am noticing in m,y site usage logs people are trying to connect via
various sites to phpMyAdmin.

I would like to only connect thru the GUI.

How do I accomplish this?
