Hi list,
I don't find any help on net or in the list archives for a annoying
problem. Here it is :
- a client want Roundcube as webmail, OK, no problem, I install it;
- He want to login with the email address of the user... And the problem
begins.
I don't think that this is a roundcube problem. In fact, by default we
can login in roundcube with the username (the unix user, let's say
"prefix_user", created in the vhost "www.domain.com").
If this user "prefix_user" has an email alias "user", and I change the
roundcube configuration to point to /etc/mail/virtusertable, I can login
with "user at www.domain.com", with the "www". But never "user at domain.com",
which is the real email of this user, because in virtusertable this
exact address does'nt exist.
The problem is the same with an external mail client : we want to use
the complete email address (for different reasons, old historical things
of clients of my client...) instead of the username "prefix_user" in the
configuration. As for roundcube, the username works but not his mail alias.
The "geek" solution saying "use a script in crontab to create a file
with the right aliases from virtusertable", can eventually work with
roundcube, but not for a mail client.
I have done that before on a debian/postfix/courier server, so I know it
can be done...
Is there a way to login (mail client or roundcube) with the email
address on BlueOnyx ??
Thanks
Frank
