[BlueOnyx:09867] Mailman error on 5108R

We are having a problem with a 5108R box.  The site admin wants to add
some remote users.  When he does so via the BlueOnyx GUI, the following
error crops up:

However, when logged in as server admin, the list can be modified from
the BlueOnyx GUI without incident.
