Anaconda oddities. It's purely down to this buggy contraption of an installer
behaving very inconsistently between various versions. There are a few
configuration options that are a must have. Some will be queried for if
they're missing, for others it will simply fail if they're not expressly
statet in the kickstart script.
The settings for the network were such a "must have" item once, but that has
been dropped in between. If I don't specify the eth0 network interface in the
kickstart script(s), then the CentOS5 CD and the CentOS6 CDs will ask for the
network. The SL6.2 CD will ask for the network settings, regardless what I do.
