[BlueOnyx:11886] PHP include files

Ok, did a quick (admintedly) search of the archives and did not
see anything close...
Have a client trying to use the php include (ssi) function which he
says works on all his other servers, but is not working on Onyx.

His index.php file has:
> <?php include '/includes/footer.php'; ?>

and gives an include error (not in include 
path '.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php"'
