I know but fort his client it was the only option
I "fixed it' by changing sendmail.cf

Don't use cnmaes.
Check your email alias in the GUI
also look at /etc/mail/local-host-names
see if the domain is in there.

As a temporary fix it may be possible to add, and restart sendmail
