Things like this indicate 'hard' failures.  This one's had 46 significant
events happen, though only the latest ones are shown.   Generally, the
sectors involved are flagged by the drive as bad and are remapped by the
drive itself.  Once all the spare sectors are used up, that's the end.

This is important...it tells how many sectors the drive has had to re-map.
A few are ok and normal, but if the number's getting big, it's a red flag.

This drive seems to be lots happier than the first one.  It's not had
anything it's internal monitoring has logged.

You can run a forced self test on the 'suspect' drive, but from what it's
reporting, it's already had issues.  See 'man smartctl' for info on
running tests.

Don't worry about the 'pre-fail' column....That just means the test is
looking for a 'pre-fail' or 'old age' sort of condition.  It's the NUMBERS
associated with the test that are important.  They should be somewhere
above the 'threshold'.  Again, read the smartctl man page for how to
interpret the numbers.
