Very true, it works in IE, however not in Chrome.

Depends on browser type and version. Looks like some browsers fiddled with
their JavaScript security settings again.

It's fixed in the new GUI, where it's opened in a separate Layer in an
iFrame. Won't fix it anymore for the old GUI.
