Yes, with many thanks to David Thacker and his excellent tutorial here: http://www.thackernet.com/RaQtoBX/RAQ34_to_BlueOnyx.html <http://www.thackernet.com/RaQtoBX/RAQ34_to_BlueOnyx.html> I have managed to update my Raq and keep the unit in service.

 
I believe to have fixed the 'install.sh' script (attached) - it worked for me, anyway.

Well just to throw it out there.
Does this mean there could be a future for my RAQ3?  I did upgrade processor (thanks Gerald)  and RAM and it seems quite happy running RAQ550 OS now. Do I dare try to upgrade further?

Yeah, the locale files used to have two letters such as "en" for English and "ja" for Japanese. For 5107R/5108R this changed to "en_US" and "ja_JP" respectively. This change was recently backported to 5106R to make package maintenance easier.

I'm a bit surprised that the 5106R Tarball installer complains about it, as it just does a "yum groupinstall blueonyx" at that point.

I'll look into it.
