[BlueOnyx:15517] MySQL Tunneling SSH

Hey everyone,

Last night, I performed some overdue yum updates to one of our dev servers. Since the update, using SSH tunneling to log in to MySQL has stopped working. The error I get is: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 0.

The interesting thing is that if I manually log into SSH and open up MySQL on the terminal, I'm not getting any connection issues. In the past, this kind of thing has been related to firewalling, but I've checked our iptables rules and nothing should be blocking my connection.

I've also tried removing the "old_passwords" option in the config in case the error was actually more generic than it should be. No luck.

The updates may have been as old as a couple of months ago. Anyone know if there were changes made in that time span that might be causing this issue for me?

Thanks for the help!
