Ok here is the final update. I added the required information to the dns 
in the db.xxx.com.include
and all worked great.

_service._proto.name. TTL class SRV priority weight port target.

_sip._tls.xxx.com. 3600 IN SRV 100 1 443 sipdir.online.lync.com.
_ssipfederationtls._tcp.xxx.com. 3600 IN SRV 100 1 5061 
sipfed.online.lync.com.
