Maybe no more updates for this version ?

Is it safe to upgrade this server to the latest version 5108 ?

There is not a single URL that is utilized, but instead yum will attempt to locate the nearest mirror from the mirrors list.

If you are still having trouble with your yum update, try the following:

yum clean all
yum update

Then see what happens after that.   If you have good nameserver 
configured for your server, then you should not have problems.
