Hey Gerald,
This is what I got
[root at openx tmp]# mdadm hotadd /dev/md0 /dev/sdb1
mdadm: An option must be given to set the mode before a second device is
listed
[root at openx tmp]# mdadm /dev/md0 -a /dev/sdb1
mdadm: cannot find /dev/sdb1: No such file or directory
[root at openx tmp]#
And this
[root at openx tmp]# smartctl -a /dev/sdb
smartctl 5.42 2011-10-20 r3458 [i686-linux-2.6.18-348.12.1.el5PAE]
