Hi All,
I'm new here so please forgive any stupidity.. for a day or two anyway !
It's many years since I did much system administration (which was mostly
on Solaris), so I'm very rusty. Also apologies this message is rather
long, I'm sure an experienced eye will scan is quite quickly.
I'm wanting to evaluate BlueOnyx, and my desired target is a Qube 3
running Centos 5.11, using the recipe provided by David Thacker;
http://www.thackernet.com/RaQtoBX/RAQ34_to_BlueOnyx.html, which worked
perfectly. The kernel is 2.6.16, from Davids site.
Today I installed BlueOnyx 5106R from the tarball (the only option I
think given my odd platform), but several problems were encountered in
the install script. Firstly, it hung at:
Installing : dovecot
/usr/libexec/dovecot/ssl-params was to blame, so I killed it via a
another shell.
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
2254 root 39 15 4220 824 556 R 99.5 0.3 33:27.26 ssl-params
Fortunately <CTRL-C> allowed YUM to continue with the message:
Non-fatal POSTIN scriptlet failure in rpm package 2:dovecot-
2.2.15-1BX04.centos5.i386
error: %post(dovecot-2.2.15-1BX04.centos5.i386) scriptlet failed,
exit status 127
Via Google search, there seem to be some known issues with Dovecot and
OpenSSL but I'm not sufficiently qualified to deal with that. See:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1100756
Following that, I saw a number of warnings similar to, and including:
No package base-apache-locale-en available
Followed by a message about re-running YUM to resolve. Then shortly
after some more errors and warning like:
e-ja-1.1.0-25BX11.centos5.noarch from BlueOnyx has depsolving problems
--> Missing Dependency: base-console-locale-ja is needed by package
base-memory-locale-ja-1.1.0-25BX11.centos5.noarch (BlueOnyx)
base-memory-locale-en-1.1.0-25BX11.centos5.noarch from BlueOnyx has
depsolving problems
--> Missing Dependency: base-console-locale-ja is needed by package
base-memory-locale-en-1.1.0-25BX11.centos5.noarch (BlueOnyx)
Error: Missing Dependency: base-console-locale-ja is needed by package

Error: Missing Dependency: base-console-locale-ja is needed by package
base-memory-locale-en-1.1.0-25BX11.centos5.noarch (BlueOnyx)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

There are unfinished transactions remaining. You might consider running
yum-complete-transaction first to finish them.
The program yum-complete-transaction is found in the yum-utils package.

After the install finshed I had to manually install
'base-apache-capstone' and 'base-admserv-capstone', before checks with
'package-cleanup --problems' was happy.
TBH I'm not sure the install was clean.. After reboot, Apache fails to
start:
Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 5 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl_perl.conf:
connect: Connection refused\t(in cleanup) Could not connect to
/usr/sausalito/cced.socket: Connection refused\n
[FAILED]
Plus, I'm seeing several errors in /var/log/messages:
Nov 22 16:00:03 q3a cced(smd)[5724]: Warning: handler
"handlers/base/am/am_enabled.pl" does not exist
Nov 22 16:00:03 q3a cced(smd)[5724]: Warning: handler
"handlers/base/apache/vsite_caCerts.pl" does not exist

Nov 22 17:45:12 q3a cced(smd)[3233]: Invalid type "accountname" for
"User..site"
Nov 22 17:45:12 q3a cced(smd)[3233]: Removing class "User"
The only cause I've found so far, for any of the above, was that
'vsite_caCerts.pl' is MISSING from base-apache-glue-1.4.1-0BX11.centos5,
though it is present in the 1.2.1 version.
I don't know if any of this is due to any of the recent updates. Is it
possible to install using an older repository ?
Thanks in advance for any pointers on how to build a working BlueOnyx on
my platform !
