Just for clarification, are you testing between 5207R and 5209R, or is
that 5107R? ie: is it "new GUI vs. new GUI & CentOS 7" or "old GUI vs.
new GUI & CentOS 7?
Here's why it's important: We know that loading of some GUI pages is
inherently slower in the new GUI than the old GUI. It has partly to do
with the fact that with the new GUI (in the 520X line) has done away
with frames, so entire pages are loaded/reloaded rather than just framesets.
It also has something to do with the way that PHP interacts with the CCE
backend.
We were aware from an early stage that the new GUI would appear to be
(and indeed, can be measurably) slower than the old GUI. Consensus
seemed to be that it was acceptable to give up a bit of speed in favor
of an overall enhanced user experience. So we've made a trade-off there.
That said, you should not be seeing more than a second or so difference
on page loads. My experience using 64-bit versions of the 520XR family
has been overwhelmingly positive. (I haven't personally used a 32-bit
version since the release of BlueOnyx on RHEL6-based platforms.)
If you are seeing greater delays than a second or maybe 2, then there
may be something else going on.
