LOL - love the story..

I'm in the Central Valley of California and we are no strangers to heat
either.

I'm sure this will be an improvement over the heat and noise generated by
the 2 Rackables (1U dual Opterons) and Penguin Relion 130 (Dual Xeon). I
have a Couple of Dell 1950's in the rack as well, but the fan speeds are
pretty quiet most of the time. I have an old PBX Rack which houses most
of the hardware.

Now if you have the time..

Our family domains (missing.com and lois.org) were launched on the first
residential install of a T1 line in the US (1993). Still have the
hardware for that too. The line was put in by Internex (I have the wood
signs taken down when they were bought out and replaced and ultimately
became XO.) This installation was at my sisters home in Santa Clara, CA.
Having a fully unmetered T1 in the 90's with a class C was a wonderful
thing. The house was dubbed Casa de Ethernet and we had hardware and
cabling everywhere. Geek heaven.

Long story short, my sister passed away almost two years ago from cancer.
One of the things we discussed as she was going through treatment was her
desire to keep a few of her projects and domains going for as long as
possible and she wanted them to never be colocated and available to be
dealt with hands on by the family. After her passing, a large chunk of
both my and her hardware came back to my home where the cycle continues.

I'm fortunate to have a wife and two children who not only put up with me
on many different levels, they also tolerated the huge project of
reinforcing the office floor, installing new electrical, mini-split, noise
etc that we "inherited" and the responsibilities of keeping some of this
stuff going as long as we can.

If anyone has any Solbourne hardware, I need it to fix lois.org. Most of
the stuff I have been able to track down is in worse shape than what I
already have.

Thanks for your time and will be in touch as the project advances..

Danny
