It sounds like somewhere in there, the system thinks it's still 
localhost.localhost.  OK, let's try this then:  from the CLI, issue this 
command:
hostname

What's the output?

Has Sendmail been restarted since you assigned the hostname in BlueOnyx? 
     Try:
service sendmail restart
