Unfortunately in order to get my network up and running first I had to edit the following files



/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0

and create
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth0

before I could get my network adapter to be connected so that I could then install nano.

Not a typical scenario I am sure, however since it used to be part of the base install I thought it might be nice to have it from the get go.
