-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

Starting with a fully updated 5208R with 4 ip addresses, running in a
KVM.

old.40/27 main server ip address, with a MAIN web site
old.41/27 alias only - former home of a USER web site
new.40/24 alias only - new home of MAIN site and server address
new.41/24 alias with a USER web site

The ip address of the USER site was already moved from old.41 to new.41
via the gui. The vm image was saved at this point, so we can easily test
migration scenarios. The task is to switch the main server ip addresses
to achieve:

old.40/27 alias with the MAIN web site
old.41/27 alias only - unused
new.40/24 main server ip address
new.41/24 alias with a USER web site

We could then move the MAIN site from old.40 to new.40 via the gui. That
would finish the ip address migration.

Connect to old.40 via the gui; remove the new.40/24 alias to make room
for changing old.40 to new.40. That worked, we still have old.41 and
new.41 aliases in the gui, but 'ip addr list' says new.41 is gone! And
trying to save in the gui gives php errors. Will try a reboot.

Rebooted, new.41 is back.

Connect to new.41 via the gui; change the main old.40 to new.40 via the
gui; and also change the netmask, gateway and hostname to match the
new.40/24 network. Hit 'save'; old.40 gets added as an alias, but with
the wrong /24 netmask, should be /27. The old.41 alias still shows in
the gui, but 'ip addr list' says old.41 is gone! Fix the old.41/27
netmask in the gui. Reboot again.

Rebooted, all 4 ip addresses are back with the proper netmasks.

Connect to new.41 via the gui, primary and three aliases are there with
proper netmasks.
