[BlueOnyx:20606] Help! Yum has broken 5209R SQL

Last nights yum update seems to have killed all the wordpress websites on a 5209R VPS!!

Everything appears to be running okay and I can loginto phpmyadmin and the databases are listed and the tables are all there and readable.
Websites are coming up with "error establishing database connection" ... I have checked privs etc. and all looks fine.

As you can imaging, I am having my head chewed off ... anybody able to give some pointers?
