On the node itself edit /etc/yum.conf and find this block:

## start-yum-gui
exclude=
## stop-yum-gui

Change it to this:

## start-yum-gui
exclude=xorg-x11-drv-ati-firmware
## stop-yum-gui

It may already have a value after the "exclude=". If so, then after the
space add xorg-x11-drv-ati-firmware, save the changes and try again.
