Hi Gerrit,

Yes, that was the intention behind adding this as a first step. Backup
and restores of databases are triggered individually via CCEd transactions.
Sometime this week or early the next I'll be releasing "Easy-Backup",
which will replace the "Automated Backup". Customers who still have
ongoing support and updates for the "Automated Backup" will get
"Easy-Backup" free of charge and of course it'll be included in the
usual bundles.
"Easy-Backup" will use the same general principles that "Easy-Migrate"
uses. But instead of doing RSYNC's for the data transfer and direct
CCEd->set() transactions between two servers it'll create tarballs and
XML files that contain all the relevant data for a later restore.
So this will allow you to generate a backup of all server settings
(including DNS and SQL), all Vsites, all Users, their settings and their
data. This manually and/or automatically generated export can be stored
locally, on an USB drive or network share and/or remotely. Restores will
be possible via the CLI and the GUI. Either partially (on a per User or
per Vsite basis) or as a whole. Permission can be granted to users to
perform their own backup and restores and/or to download their data.
However: If Users download their own data, then this will omit their
User- and Vsite CODB database export to prevent tampering and changes in
configuration. Means: They can download/restore their data, emails and
SQL database, but the restore will not modify any CODB related settings
of their account(s) or Vsite(s).
