PHP 5.3 was EOL in August 2014, 5.4 in September 2015 and 5.5 in July 
2016.       As they're well past their lifespan there isn't any effort 
going into making them available.   Actually, it could be argued that 
having them available is like offering a subscription-based security 
risk.   But from a more practical point of view, at this point it's just 
not worth the effort to try and get those old versions to compile.   The 
incentive is pretty low for the BlueOnyx team.

 From an operations standpoint.  That said, PHP 5.6 is still rattling 
around if you need the PHP5 branch.   I don't recall having much trouble 
moving sites from 5106R to 5108R back in the day, though you may find 
yourself seeing some deprecation messages in your message log...
