Hi Florian,
> I miss network monitoring tools like iftop and nload in the base install. Is there a safe/recommended way to add these? Or what are you guys using instead?
[root at 5210r ~]# LC_ALL=C yum whatprovides "*/nload"
Last metadata expiration check: 2:14:01 ago on Sat Jan 9 10:34:50 2021.
Error: No Matches found
However, "nload" seems to be in Epel for CentOS 8:
https://centos.pkgs.org/8/epel-x86_64/nload-0.7.4-16.el8.x86_64.rpm.html
You can install stuff from Epel, but you *must* disable/remove the Epel
repository config files afterwards. Because a "yum update" against Epel
will cause severe issues as that replaces RPMs with versions that won't
work on BlueOnyx due to differences in build and/or configuration.
