[BlueOnyx:25513] Node.js and npm

Is anyone familiar with installing Node.js and npm on BlueOnyx?

I have a client with a site that requires these things but I am not at 
all familiar with these so I wanted to make sure it is safe to install 
and will not conflict with anything on a 5210R at all.
