That is an approach I once contemplated. But most people want and need 
the multi-PHP approach anyway. So they install the PHP packages from the 
shop and run each Vsite on whatever PHP it needs.

So what's the benefit of unlocking the OS's PHP and switching the GUI to 
something stand alone if people then still trow a whole bunch of Shop 
supplied PHPs at it?
