Yeah, this is sadly an issue. When BlueOnyx 5210R came out, PHP-5.6 was 
already long (several years?) EOL'ed and would no longer build fine on 
anything half way modern. I could only get it to build if I deactivated 
some features that we usually have and JSON support was one of those 
things that HAD to be turned off.

On 5211R we have the same issue: The oldest available PHP for it is 
v5.6.60 and even then that also has several crucial features disabled or 
it wouldn't build.

So no: This sadly cannot be fixed. At least it's beyond my ability.
