Hi all,
Existing clients with older Aventurin{e} 6109R probably have OpenVZ 7
Containers that they want to move to Aventuri{e} 6110R, which runs Incus.
We already had a procedure for that using the Incus import utility. But
it wasn't pretty and involved too many manual steps.
Enter "Easy Migrate" for OpenVZ -> Incus:
==========================================
Aventurin{e} 6110R v1.2.1-1 now includes a custom migration script that
allows to directly import BlueOnyx 5210R Containers (also Debian 10, 11,
12 or 13 CTs) directly from OpenVZ.
The script does a full import of the existing OpenVZ 7 container, keeps
the configuration as similar as the architecture allows, enables secure
VLANs for the imported Container *and* makes all the changes inside the
Container to make it run under Incus on Aventurin{e} 6110R.
[root at incus ~]# /usr/sausalito/sbin/ovz7ct_to_incus.sh
This script can migrate OpenVZ 7 CTs (Debian 10/11/12/13 or BlueOnyx
5210R) to Incus.
Usage: /usr/sausalito/sbin/ovz7ct_to_incus.sh --vpsid <VPS_ID> --node
<NODE> --port <SSH_PORT> --name <CONTAINER_NAME> --gateway <GATEWAY>
The full documentation and example output is provided here:
https://www.aventurin.net/index.php?page=import-debian-or-blueonyx-5210r-ct-from-openvz
This really simplifies the procedure of moving forward to Aventurin{e}
6110R.
Like said: This script is for importing BlueOnyx 5210R and Debian >= 10,
as these are the most common Containers that one might want to move from
OpenVZ 7 to Incus. If you need to import anything else? Let me know and
I might expand a bit on the script in the future.
