<p class=MsoPlainText><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>I finally got ClamAV running as a milter. Took a while
to work out that sendmail ‘calls’ clamav-milter which calls ‘clamd’
through another milter. The sockets were quite hard to work out especially the
permissions. At one point I seem to have erased the clamd command and
overwritten it with a socket (following a how to on google). Once I fully
understood the operation behind the sockets, configuring was a breeze. In the
end I created a specfic directory /run/var/clamav/clamavsockets, gave this
access to clamav user and group. When clamav-milter and clamd start they just
sorted out the permissions of the sockets in the directory.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
