Sorry, but why not just remove the Mail server Alias from the GUI!?
This is what I do, yes you will have the same problem if your website
tries to send mail as <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:user@www.example.com">user@www.example.com</a> but <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:user@example.com">user@example.com</a> should
then work based on MX records.
