Hi,

When trying to edit a mailing list, some my users are getting
permission errors in the red band at the bottom of the site
administration console. /var/log/messages says:

This is a particularly frustrating bug because a lot of time was
spent editing the list before pressing the submit button, and
there's no way to reproduce the changes quickly without a lot more
manual data entry.

As a side note, all of these mailing lists, unlike the BlueQuartz
setup I was used to, now have a number prepended to the list name,
along with a dash. If you don't send e-mails to this arbitrarily
numbered address, messages are held due to an explicit recipient
violation. Changing that setting for each list requires some
sleuthing (it's a setting somewhere in privacy options for mailman)
and it's a general pain in the neck.

Also, in this case the user editing the list has administator
permissions for the virtual site, so it doesn't make sense that she
should be denied permission.
