sorry, should have updated the list. <br>

the problem wasnt with the server. It was with my workstation's
browsers and corrupted cache. <br>
<br>
in the middle of testing, my workstation got tied up by a vendor
using it for a remote update of my SAN so I had to switch to my
laptop, and everything was fine. <br>
<br>
Once I got back onto my workstation the server appeared to be
messed up again. After clearing the cache repeatedly on both
browsers it suddenly started working fine. <br>

The second part where other FQDN redirect to the root domain
name of the server, it would indicate that DNS was not
running... is it happening for ALL domains on that server?<br>
